Ameresco is seeking a Director – Power Plant Implementation to oversee a diverse construction portfolio across the USA including Hawaii & Alaska. This role will lead the execution of large‑scale energy power plants including turbines, reciprocating engines, fuel cells, geothermal, and complex mechanical systems. The Director will be responsible for the full implementation and turnkey delivery, ensuring safe, timely, and high‑quality delivery across commercial customer sites.
Responsibilities- Oversee the implementation of generation projects for Ameresco‑owned assets and customers, including federal military bases, public institutions, state governments, and commercial entities.
- Lead construction execution activities to meet all site safety and health program requirements and drive a strong safety culture across all project teams.
- Ensure project execution adheres to Ameresco’s Project Quality Control Plans, including oversight of subcontractors to maintain quality, schedule, commissioning standards, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage project budgets, expenditures, job cost accounting, documentation, approvals, payment tracking, and financial forecasting.
- Manage change orders, claims, contractual negotiations, risk registers, and mitigation plans to protect Ameresco’s commercial interests.
- Collaborate with the Engineering and Development Teams on project design and development, including scope definition, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, construction planning, installation strategy, scheduling, commissioning, startup, operations, and maintenance planning.
- Work with the Development Team and Management to prepare bid packages that ensure competitive costs, optimal schedules, and efficient delivery of equipment, materials, and construction services.
- Provide executive‑level oversight of EPC contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, performance guarantees, productivity requirements, and schedule milestones.
- Direct permitting, environmental compliance, utility interconnection processes, and coordination with regulatory agencies, including federal, state, and local authorities.
- Coordinate commissioning, startup, testing, and project turnover activities, including integration of controls, SCADA, protective relays, and performance validation.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Supervisors, and subcontractor teams, ensuring effective resource planning and high‑performance execution.
- Oversee logistics planning and long‑lead procurement activities, including factory witness testing, delivery sequencing, and Hawaii‑specific shipping requirements.
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders through regular status updates, executive briefings, risk reviews, and progress reporting during all project phases.
- Deliver project documentation, reports, technical support, and facilitate strong internal and external collaboration.
- Ensure adherence to company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies across all stages of the project.
