Overview

Shift

Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm with every other weekend.

Responsibilities
  • Fill prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
  • Participate in periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
  • Check drugs and supplies, stock shelves, remove out-of-date items from inventory.
  • Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, ointments, may include non-sterile compounding.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers pleasantly and professionally.
  • Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Perform at least one of the following:
    • Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
    • Work with automated machine to prepack drugs.
    • Manage inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications, managing to pharmacy standard for Days on Hand.
    • Input patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry).
    • Mix/packages IV medications, sanitize IV room, equipment and hood.
  • Service facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in a pharmacy setting and with medical terminology. Ability to operate a computer; ability to recognize and identify medications. Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, effective oral communication. Pharmacy Technician license (as required by state).
  • Long Term Care pharmacy experience & National Pharmacy Technician License (desired).
