Position SummaryThe Pharmacy Floor Technician plays a key role in supporting daily pharmacy operations, ensuring prescriptions are accurately prepared, labeled, and ready for final pharmacist verification. This role works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment alongside pharmacists, technicians, and clerks to maintain efficient workflow and timely prescription fulfillment while adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.
ScheduleRotation every other weekend: 3rd Shift: Starts around 9 PM–10 PM. Open to 4-day, 10-hour shift schedules if needed. Overtime and weekend work are not typically required but may occasionally be necessary to meet prescription release deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately and efficiently fill daily prescription orders under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Pick, label, scan, and prepare prescriptions for final pharmacist verification
- Assist in processing returned medications according to company procedures
- Pre-pack frequently ordered medications, label, and store as needed during low-volume periods
- Pull medications from shelving and storage areas, ensuring proper handling and organization
- Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy verification
- Notify pharmacists of any discrepancies or scanning issues
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, restocking supplies as needed
- Follow all HIPAA, safety, and regulatory requirements
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear and active Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy (MDBOP)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work at a consistent, moderate pace
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician (retail or long-term care setting preferred)
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the shift
- Ability to work 7–10 hours per day and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Manual dexterity to operate scanning and labeling equipment
- Visual acuity for reading fine print, color differentiation, and accuracy verification
- Must be able to hear normal voice communication in a busy environment
