Job SummaryCRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the technology partner for health information exchange (HIE) affiliates in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, Connecticut, Alaska, Virginia and other jurisdictions. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data‑driven understanding of regional public health concerns.
The Integration Engineer will be responsible for creating, configuring, and maintaining the data connections that allow CSS to exchange information with its customers and partners. The ideal engineer would be able to lead an integration with a new customer, identify and resolve potential issues with current integrations, and assist other teams in reviewing and monitoring data flow across the CSS environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Working with CSS’s customers to onboard new data feeds and connections for sharing data.
- Maintaining operational status of production data feeds and systems.
- Monitoring data flow through each system to ensure that all information reaches its intended destination.
- Work with members from other teams to ensure successful integrations and inter‑system operability.
- Troubleshoot errors or issues with production feeds, including assisting owners of dependent systems with troubleshooting.
- Daily and weekly on‑call responsibilities.
- Integration experience, familiarity with HL7 messages required.
- Ability to create and understand technical documentation.
- Ability to manage the Software Lifecycle Development Cycle in an organized fashion.
- Ability to understand data encryption principles, including VPN and TLS connections.
- Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with both a technical and non‑technical audience.
- Ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and issues.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or information systems, preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of work experience in healthcare technology.
- 1 to 4 years of experience with healthcare integrations, required.
- Working knowledge of Mirth Connect, JavaScript, HL7v2, and HL7 CCDA, preferred.
- Experience with Python, a plus.
- Knowledge of Public Health Reporting, a plus.
$80,000 - $95,000
Note:
For the first 6 months, the candidate will be in an Interface Support Analyst role. After that time, they will transition into an Integration Engineer. The candidate will also participate in an 11‑team member on‑call rotation.
