IT Project Manager, IT Consultant
Partners with the CIO and is responsible for providing leadership and guidance for the IT Applications functions including information delivery, project management, database architecture/management, systems analysis/development, and technical support. Manages IT application resource requirements to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands. Provides in-depth technical expertise for both tactical and operational initiatives. Accountable for ensuring the alignment of information technology and business requirements and implementing and supporting systems to fulfill current and future information needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the support, integration, training, and improvement of business applications technology.
- Provide direction and leadership in the review of current IT application systems and methods in the evaluation of new and revised systems, ensuring appropriate fit and integration with existing technologies.
- Inform and advise customers on information system technology functionality, cost, benefits and implementation requirements using a consultative approach that focuses on business processes, information requirements and return on investment/value proposition.
- Develops and oversees a comprehensive data strategy with associated capabilities to serve current and anticipated business and information needs.
- Manage assigned staff through the creation of a supportive work environment that enables employees to develop professionally, promotes teamwork and collaboration and emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, creativity and cost effectiveness.
- Responsible for recruitment /hiring, supervision, disciplinary actions, recognition, salary administration, performance appraisals and terminations.
- Develop and train staff to ensure high skill levels and technical competence.
- Lead activities related to developing and strengthening relationships with strategic vendors.
- Participate in request for proposals and evaluations of vendor services.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in strategic system planning sessions.
- Manage department budget and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain technical and project documentation.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or other related discipline.
- Twelve years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferable across multiple hardware and software platforms.
- 7 years of experience in managing multiple direct reports.
Computer Skills -
- PC proficiency to include (but not limited to) Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Other Requirements -
- Experience in and knowledge of computing architectures.
- Experience with systems analysis.
- Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
- Demonstrated ability to think and lead strategically.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to frame problems and solutions quickly and concisely.
- Ability to accomplish objectives through influence and persuasion.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organization and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and problem solve.
- Experience in the REIT industry preferred.
- Experience leading system implementation, including business process and change management.
- Experience leading system integration efforts, including data transfer, file transfer, and API technologies.
- Experience leading data conversion efforts.
- Experience leading business process improvement efforts, especially mapping new and existing technologies for process automation.
