Database Engineer; Hybrid

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a Database Engineer to work in Columbia, Maryland
. This individual will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data solutions within Microsoft Azure for a major healthcare company. The role focuses on developing scalable data pipelines, implementing data integration strategies, and ensuring secure, efficient data storage and processing across cloud environments.

• Design and implement data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Databricks for ingestion, transformation, and loading of structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain data lake architectures leveraging Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
• Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency in cloud environments.
• Implement data governance and security standards using Azure Purview, encryption, and role-based access control.

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.
• Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, encryption, data masking).
• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.

• Salary range: $135,000 - $145,000
