Position:
Mid-Level Dev Ops Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position supporting a U.S. Government customer. The role focuses on providing technical expertise to sustain mission-critical software and systems.
- Perform pure Dev Ops tasks including network authentication, visualization, and some coding
- Support development lifecycle in platform architecture, deployment, and debugging
- Build and maintain release pipelines for fast yet safe production delivery
- Maintain version control practices (Git) with proper branching and merging strategies
- Serve as technical lead for an Agile team and participate in all ceremonies (planning, grooming, demos, retrospectives)
- Automate release deployments across development, test, staging, QA, and production using scripting and automation tools
- Set up new sites and applications via configuration management (Puppet, Ansible)
- Maintain and document Confluence/Jira usage
- Design and maintain web service infrastructure and deployments
- Analyze service stack and recommend improvements; identify opportunities to streamline and automate
- Communicate effectively to bridge stakeholder and development requirements
- Provide support and operations assistance as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Proficient with programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, and Java
- Proficient in Dev Ops/SRE methodologies
- Experience with Software Defined Networking for automating network configuration
- Understand service development and deployment architectures with a focus on high availability and performance
- Set up continuous integration environments using CM, containers, serverless tech, and Kubernetes
- Architect and develop best practices for build tools (Gradle, Maven, ANT, Shell) and CI tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) and infrastructure automation (AWS, VMware, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
- Collaborate across multiple teams
To be considered, you must have the following:
- Active or re-instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- 10+ years of related experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent with Git
- Strong Linux knowledge (RHEL/CentOS)
- Experience with Windows administration, monitoring, and performance
- Experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo with Docker and Kubernetes for automated deployments
- Experience with caching technologies (Memcached, Redis, etc.)
- Experience with MySQL (clusters, replication, tuning) and Elasticsearch; understanding of security practices, networking, firewalls, PCI compliance
- Extensive system architecture experience with ability to read code and troubleshoot
- Experience managing AWS cloud and virtualized servers in a PaaS environment
- Familiarity with SDLC models, agile, and Dev Ops methodologies
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Ruby, C, C++, Go)
- Ability to understand large complex software systems to isolate defects and assess risk
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with customers, developers, testers, PMs, and support
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Container orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift)

Salary RangeThe salary range for this full-time position is $115,000 to $190,000. Salary is determined by position level, skills, experience, education, and certifications. The final salary is aligned with your benefits package and the specific role during the hiring process.
