We are looking for a Network Engineer (NE II) for a federal contract located in Ft. Meade, MD. The position requires office presence at least 5 days per week and is only located in the posted location; no relocation is offered. This role provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 on‑site and remote support for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals and teleconferencing equipment.
Job Responsibilities- Provide Tier 2/3 network engineering support for end‑user and enterprise environments.
- Deliver system‑level design, architecture and enterprise security solutions.
- Configure, install and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and load balancers.
- Manage network boundaries, datacenter virtualization, CAN/LAN/MAN infrastructure and packet‑capture software.
- Administer routing/switching protocols, TCP/IP protocol stack, stateful firewalls and L3/L4 access controls.
- Install, configure and support Cisco IOS, CatOS, NxOS, Fascia and access control, Cisco works, TACACS+, ASA, FWSM, HP Openview, Cisco routers and switches, F5/Cisco load balancers, Infiniband, Juniper, Fiber Channel (FC) SAN and VPN (IPSEC).
- Support local‑campus networks, workplace peripherals and teleconferencing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents to ensure availability, performance and security.
- Document technical processes, maintain system records and provide knowledge transfer.
- Utilize Atlassian Tool Suite for documentation and workflow management.
- Be available for on‑call requirements.
- Work with virtualization products such as VMware and Solaris containers.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and eight (8) years demonstrable experience (or thirteen (13) years without a degree) in network engineering (LAN), architecture, monitoring, security and protection.
- CCNP certification is required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and eligibility to drive an AT&T company vehicle.
TS/SCI with polygraph.
RemunerationOur Network Engineer (NE II) (Government) earns between $89,200 and $207,900 annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise and education/training.
