Senior Epic Cogito Consultant

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Epic Cogito Consultant for the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS). This consultant will serve as a hands-on Cogito SME responsible for advancing UMMS's Epic-first reporting strategy through reporting modernization, self-service analytics expansion, and Epic-native reporting adoption. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across Cogito, Reporting Workbench, Radar, Slicer Dicer, Clarity, Caboodle, and SQL, with the ability to contribute immediately and operate independently.

Key responsibilities include modernizing legacy reporting platforms, developing executive and operational dashboards, expanding Slicer Dicer adoption, optimizing Cogito reporting tools, and mentoring internal analytics resources. This individual will also work closely with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions and establish best practices across the analytics organization. While future Cogito Cloud initiatives are anticipated, the immediate focus is on delivering high-impact reporting solutions, driving analytics adoption, and helping position UMMS for future Cogito Cloud readiness.

• Modernize enterprise reporting strategy using Epic-native tools
• Build and optimize Radar dashboards
• Develop Reporting Workbench reports
• Create and enhance Cogito SQL reporting solutions
• Design, develop, and tune Clarity and Caboodle reporting environments
• Build custom Caboodle extracts and data models
• Convert Crystal Reports and WebI dashboards into Epic-native solutions
• Migrate BOE content into Cogito reporting tools
• Lead Slicer Dicer adoption initiatives
• Configure custom filters, populations, measures, and security within Slicer Dicer
• Create, publish, and maintain reusable Slicer Dicer sessions for departments and service lines
• Configure and optimize Slicer Dicer Side Kick and Cogito Assistant for AI-assisted self-service analytics
• Train users and facilitate office hours
• Drive self-service analytics adoption across the organization
• Activate and optimize underutilized Epic analytics functionality, including Analytics Catalog, Dashboard Insights, Build Assist, and Radar Email Delivery
• Establish development standards and governance
• Conduct peer reviews and reporting quality assessments
• Eliminate duplicate and unused reporting content
• Work directly with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions
• Support future Cogito Cloud readiness and planning efforts
• Serve as a senior advisor for analytics best practices and reporting strategy

• 5-7+ years of Epic Cogito experience
• Active Epic certification in the Clarity Data Model, plus Cogito Tools Administration, Caboodle Data Model and/or Caboodle Development.
• Senior-level, hands-on skill across the Cogito toolset:
  Radar, Reporting Workbench, Slicer Dicer, Clarity, Caboodle and Cogito SQL reports.
• Hands-on experience setting up Slicer Dicer: data models, custom filters and measures, security, and published sessions.
• Advanced SQL, with deep knowledge of Clarity and Caboodle data structures.
• Proven experience moving legacy BI content, preferably Crystal, WebI or BOE, to Epic-native reporting.
• Experience across several Epic modules, such as inpatient, ambulatory and revenue cycle.
• Experience creating executive and C-suite reporting dashboards
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and enabling team members and end users
• Former Epic employee/Epic Boost resource
• A track record of measurably raising Slicer Dicer adoption and engagement at a health system.
• Experience setting up Slicer Dicer Side Kick, Cogito Assistant or other AI-assisted self-service features.
• Experience with Cogito Cloud planning or implementation.
• Experience with Epic Cognitive Computing, Nebula and predictive model deployment.
• Experience setting up and using the Analytics Catalog.
• Experience helping large health systems with a reporting modernization or Epic-first transition.
