We are seeking an Embedded System Design Engineer for a 3-month+ project in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in debugging and testing analog and digital design, and will work closely with CAD designers, board fab, and assembly vendors.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Guide Mechanical design for enclosures
• Create clear and concise HW design documentation
• Review and evaluate supplier/vendor documentation
• Evaluate unit failures and implement corrective actions
• Implement modifications to automated test equipment and test software

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in digital board development using CPLD, clocks, switches
• Experience with Xilinx/Altera CPLD tools and switching power supply design of DC/DC converters
• Experience with schematic capture software ORCAD
• Awareness of signal integrity and EMI/EMC issues
• Experience with thermal design and heat sinks
• Experience using scope, logic analyzer, and Labview
