UL Research Institutes (ULRI) is recruiting a Research Amplification Specialist based in Columbia, MD. The role involves collaborating with researchers and subject matter experts to translate complex research findings into accessible, engaging content across various formats such as research updates, blog posts, and social media.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute marketing plans to amplify UL Research Institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute findings and maximize reach and impact across multiple channels and audiences.
- Support the development of press releases and media materials and content that enable the amplification team to build relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure media coverage for research findings.
- Develop content for social media campaigns to promote research findings and engage with the online community.
- Develop content to promote events, webinars, and workshops to distribute research findings and engage with stakeholders. Support logistics for virtual and in‑person events, including invitations, registration, and follow‑up.
- Identify potential partners, including other nonprofits, government agencies, and academic institutions, to amplify the reach and impact of research. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to co‑promote research initiatives and findings.
- Analyze data on the reach and impact of research distribution efforts. Regularly report on key performance indicators and adjust strategies as needed.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and audience preferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage projects and lead teams to successfully meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in data analytics and monitoring tools for tracking impact.
- Strong networking and relationship‑building skills.
- A deep understanding of the nonprofit and research sector.
- Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of specific field of research (e.g., healthcare, education, environmental conservation) is advantageous.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in a research or nonprofit environment, preferred.
