Infusion Nurse - Columbia
Option Care Home Health LLC, the largest independent home and alternate site infusion services provider in the United States, is seeking an experienced Infusion Nurse II to provide intermediate direct patient care in the home or alternate infusion suite.
Shift options
: 11:00 AM‑7:00 PM, 5‑shift or 8‑shift Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday.
- Initiates, develops, and implements intermediate nursing plan of care treatments, evaluating patient progress towards goals.
- Organizes and participates in provision of direct patient care, performs treatments, administers medications, and educates patients and families/caregivers.
- Modifies plan of treatment in response to changing patient status or physician orders to achieve established or revised patient care goals.
- Assesses patient needs and physical status at each skilled visit; obtains and clarifies physician orders; informs physician promptly of significant changes.
- Provides training and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I’s as needed.
- Communicates effectively with clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care.
- Prepares clinical documentation in real‑time during visits and submits to nursing department to comply with billing timelines.
- Coordinates discharge planning and prepares discharge summaries with patient instructions.
- Demonstrates compliance with agency policies, professional standards, and regulations.
- Maximizes work efficiency through computer and automation technologies.
- Responds promptly to patient requests and initiates emergency procedures as needed.
- Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Speaks knowledgeably about scope of services and explains financial obligations to patients.
- Attends required training, continues education, and maintains professional licensure.
- Provides oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals and may act as Supervisor in absence of Nurse Manager.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences and provides precepting.
- Participates in nursing department on‑call responsibilities.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Education and Experience
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Competency in patient care standards and infusion skill sets applicable to agency programs.
- Proof of valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance for business travel.
- Basic computer skill level sufficient for nursing technology tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb, with a maximum lifting of 75 lb; occasionally exert 20 lb of force.
- Work may involve walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, turning, and fine motor tasks.
- Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and potential hazardous substances.
- Safety equipment required: closed‑toe shoes, facemask, goggles, gown, gloves.
- Willing to travel up to 100 % of the time for business purposes.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- 1–2 years of previous infusion nursing experience preferred.
Pay range: $42.72 k – $71.21 k, based on education, experience, and skills.
