General PurposeThis position provides a visible presence at the store entrances and exits, mitigating theft and fraud while maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers. The Specialist greets all customers with eye contact, smiles, and a friendly presence in a company‑issued vest. They monitor the Code 50 package inspection policy, walk the sales floor to identify and address potential theft indicators, and partner with store leadership to ensure compliance with loss prevention directives.
EssentialFunctions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environment
- Practice safe behaviors and assist store leadership in maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.
- Provide a visible “command” presence, including prompt greetings at entrances and exits and on the sales floor.
- Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with eye contact, smiles, and courteous assistance.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect and professionalism.
- Recognize associates through company recognition programs.
- Participate in internal and external partnerships, including conference calls, district meetings, and training sessions.
- Perform other duties assigned to support loss prevention initiatives.
- Represent and support the company brand at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company dress code.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and the sales floor for potential theft by identifying suspicious behavior.
- Gather theft indicators and use internal or external intelligence to impact shortage trends; communicate findings to store and loss prevention leadership.
- Adhere to company policy for external theft response.
- Execute all company best practices to maximize productivity.
- Increase store awareness of effective processes to minimize operational shortage.
- Train and educate associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
- Observe and validate proper checkout procedures for customers and associates.

- High school education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
- One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
- One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
- Active security guard license preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
