Job Description
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role has expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. It must identify, troubleshoot, and provide project assistance for DIY customers, source parts from special orders or manufacturer direct, and manage store inventory and maintenance processes. Position is full time.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installations.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
- Keyholder duties: task assignment and completion, safety, open/close duties.
- Assist in store inventory processes: truck put away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, back stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
- Provide DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent.
- Advanced solution, project and product recommendation ability.
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing.
- Advanced selling skills for DIY.
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability.
- Strong English communication;
Spanish a plus. - Reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Understanding and executing written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 3‑5 years of automotive parts experience.
- Proven sales ability in customer transactions.
- Valid driver’s license.
ASE Certification Preferred; not required.
Compensation Range$18.15 – $19.96 per hour.
