Chesapeake Lighting is a leader in the commercial lighting industry looking for an initiative-taker to fill a Specification Sales position. As a sales representative for lighting fixture and lighting controls manufacturers, Chesapeake Lighting is a sales intermediary between our customers and the lighting manufacturers we represent. We strive to raise the standards of our industry through technical expertise, exceptional service, and a strong commitment to business ethics.
Chesapeake Lighting is an exciting growing Lighting & Lighting Controls Manufacturers Representative with our HQ Office in MD and our fantastic new Showroom space in Downtown Washington DC. We are a team that loves to work together and have a lot of fun as we promote ourselves through sales and fun activities with our specifiers.

- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong ties with architects, lighting designers, engineers, contractors, and developers.
- Product Expertise: Provide technical guidance, offer product information, and educate specifiers on product features, performance, and new technology.
- Specification Support: Assist design professionals in specifying lighting products, ensuring they meet project needs, codes, and standards.
- Sales & Business Development: Identify project opportunities, generate leads, present product solutions, and meet sales targets.
- Industry Engagement: Attend trade shows, events, and deliver presentations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of lighting design, industry standards (like IES), and lighting controls is preferred but not essential.
- Sales
Skills:
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. - Project Management: Ability to manage time, track activities, and oversee projects from concept to specification.
- Experience: 2-7+ years in lighting or related building product sales is preferred but not essential.
- Involves significant travel to client sites and industry events.
- Works closely with internal teams (project management, quoting) and external partners (manufacturers, distributors).
