The Field Service Technician is a key customer‑facing position that represents the Vantive brand in clinical and hospital settings. This role manages an assigned territory and travels to perform installation, repair, preventative maintenance, training, and other services on a variety of electro‑mechanical medical devices. Field Technicians are hands‑on and enjoy solving technical problems, interacting with customers, applying attention to detail, and working autonomously while traveling.

What

You'll Be Doing
  • Perform repairs, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and installations on electro‑mechanical medical equipment within established SLAs, quality, and procedural standards.
  • Analyze equipment failures to determine root cause and perform corrective action.
  • Manage the territory by scheduling service calls and preventive maintenance, ensuring all activities fall within SLAs.
  • Ensure test equipment is working properly and calibrated at established intervals.
  • Document all performance and maintenance records on equipment.
  • Plan and order parts necessary for service, maintaining proper inventory records.
  • Provide guidance and training to customer personnel in operation, maintenance, inspection procedures, and techniques.
  • Maintain customer goodwill through effective and timely communication of all services rendered.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Participate in department meetings and training events.
  • Assist with installation or field action planning and execution when required.
  • Travel to assist other Field Service Technicians outside of the designated territory.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety SOPs and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and draw accurate conclusions to solve equipment‑related problems.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
  • Capability to work independently and manage an assigned territory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional and courteous conduct with peers and customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in healthcare settings and compliance with personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Physical ability to kneel, stand, squatting, bending, lifting, pulling, and twisting as required.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more with assistance.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive extended distances or fly as needed.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight stays, as required.
Experience and Education
  • Associate's degree or higher in engineering, biomedical equipment technology, or computer science.
  • OR Associate's degree or higher in a non‑related field with 3+ years of electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • OR Biomedical Engineering Technology (BMET) certification with 3+ years of electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • OR completion of a U.S. military electrical or electrical biomedical equipment technology program.
  • Previous field service experience is preferred.
Compensation

Estimated base salary: $65,000 – $75,000 annually. Individual pay is based on location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
