Staff Software Engineer – Lotame

. The Staff Software Engineer will deliver new functionality to the Lotame SaaS platform through hands‑on coding while leading product discovery, architecture, design, process and people. Lotame’s close‑knit engineering teams work in scrum teams of 4–6 people each, operating in 2‑week sprints and 10‑week increments that ensure business value. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with product leaders and technology peers to coordinate and deliver software solutions and mentor team members.

• Work with Technology & Product team members to define and refine requirements in an Agile environment as a lead engineer on a scrum team.
• Design approaches and write the software to implement new features and improve existing ones.
• Own the definition of new capabilities and coordinate their implementation with other team members.

Required

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other engineering field is preferred, but not required based on experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer with the ability to decompose complex problems and create simple solutions.
• 7+ years of experience building Java services and applications from sub‑100ms web services to big‑data batch applications, including JVM tuning.
• 5+ years of SQL/Spark
  
  SQL/HiveQL type database experience including query tuning.
• 3+ years working in a cloud‑based environment, preferably AWS, and experience building for the cloud versus on‑premises.
• 2+ years of leading within an engineering team.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with an ability to work in an Agile scrum environment.
• Self‑motivation to work independently when needed while participating within a high‑performing team.
• Strong working knowledge of Java and/or Python.
• Comfort working with Git, Maven.

Nice‑to‑have

• Knowledge of advertising operations and technology.
• Experience with cloud‑based technologies, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with build and deploy pipelines and the knowledge to create your own.
• Experience with Containers, Puppet, AWS Cloud Formation or similar.
• Experience with Authentication systems, SAML 2, LDAP, etc.

Base Salary: $105,000 – $195,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to individual skills, experience, qualifications, location and applicable employment laws. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
