We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software capabilities for computer‑based systems. You will work closely with other talented engineers to create software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. The role is hybrid with some on‑site support. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with modern tools and technologies, and you will be encouraged to stay up‑to‑date with the latest developments in the field.

You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that is committed to delivering high‑quality software solutions to our clients.

• At least five (5) years of experience in Software Engineering, modern Java frameworks and libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava) and a Bachelors in related field; three (3) years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and nine (9) years relevant experience.

• Experience in designing enterprise APIs
• Experience in RESTful web services
• Experience in Microservices architecture
• Experience in Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle
• Has a proven ability to learn quickly and works well both independently as well as in a team setting
• Experience with the Linux operating system
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven)
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

• A current Secret or higher level clearance is preferred
• DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer
• Experience in cloud based technologies (AWS, Azure)
• Experience in distributed databases, No
  
  SQL databases, full text‑search engines (e.g. Elasticsearch, Mongo
  
  DB, Solr)
• Scripting experience is a huge plus
• Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus
• Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.)
