Marketing Communications
The MU College of Education and Human Development is seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional to direct the development, implementation, and measurement of an integrated communication strategy to achieve college priorities. Focus areas include brand strategy and reputation management; student recruitment; academic departments; executive communications; faculty, alumni, and donor engagement; and engagement with the key external audiences. These goals are met in a highly collaborative work environment together with the college’s leaders and lead external communicators.
Job Description Key Areas of Impact Reputation ManagementPosition CEHD as a leader in education and human development through consistent, strategic messaging and visual identity.
Student Recruitment & Academic SupportDevelop campaigns and content that attract and engage prospective students while supporting academic departments.
Executive & Strategic CommunicationsAdvise college leadership and craft high-impact communications for internal and external audiences.
Stakeholder EngagementBuild meaningful connections with faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors and key external partners.
What You’ll Do Strategic Marketing & Communications- Design and implement integrated communication strategies aligned with CEHD’s strategic plan.
- Create and distribute content showcasing research impact, faculty excellence and student success.
- Use data-driven insights to measure effectiveness and inform decisions.
- Collaborate closely with the university’s Division of Marketing & Communications to ensure all strategies, messaging and creative assets align with institutional brand standards and guidelines. Serve as a school/college liaison to the division to maintain consistency and maximize impact across university-wide initiatives.
- Serve as the college’s communications expert and trusted advisor to the dean and leadership team.
- Oversee development of messaging, speeches, presentations, news stories, digital content, social media and web content.
- Represent CEHD on university-wide committees and initiatives.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to elevate CEHD’s research and achievements.
- Partner with Mizzou’s News and Information, Media Relations and Public Affairs, and Social teams to amplify visibility.
- Lead and mentor a talented team of staff and student employees.
- Manage priorities, deadlines and resources using project management best practices.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Align CEHD with university standards for print, digital, video, photography and environmental design.
Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working across diverse audiences.
- Expertise in digital communications, analytics, and emerging technologies.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
Salary Range: $85,000 – $110,000 annually
