American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Medical Surgical unit requiring MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience.

• Medical Specialties unit with 57-bed max capacity servicing internal medicine patients with diverse diagnoses
• Room amenities include video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms
• Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratios average 1:5 for days and 1:6 for nights, with occasional increases to 1:6 days and 1:7 nights
• Required to float to MS and MS/Tele units
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Cerner charting preferred but not required

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required; will consider 1.5 years for quality candidates
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and port access/management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry
• Experience with respiratory care including HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

• Provide direct mentorship and clinical preceptorship to peers and students
• Work in a 24/7 healthcare facility with routine exposure to contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather required
• Must work 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• Local candidates accepted, though local candidates are not eligible for contract extensions
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible for consideration; those 51-74 miles away may be offered at a local rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
