Job Description Summary

The purpose of this job is to install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in buildings. Secures necessary electrical permits and performs inspections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. * Performs highly skilled electrical work as a licensed master electrician, including permitted electrical projects. Discusses, coordinates, and reviews plans with engineers, planners, and contractors. Recommends and implements changes to plans as appropriate.

* Researches, recommends, bids, and secures materials for projects.

* Works with standard and high electrical voltages. Installs, operates, and tests circuits and lighting for required safety standards.

* Troubleshoots, repairs, and resolves electrical problems.

* Applies for and secures necessary electrical permits for assigned projects.

* Coordinates and schedules inspections of electrical work performed.

* Creates and maintains detailed and accurate records.

* Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree or a 2-year technical degree in electrical technology of similar field strongly preferred.

* 3 to 5 years' experience in electrical trades.

Licenses or

Certifications:

* Master Electrician License required.

* Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no airbrake restriction within 6 months of hire.

* Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). certification.
