A respected industrial manufacturer known for producing high-performance engineered components is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join its skilled machining team. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for a seasoned CNC Machinist who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and takes pride in quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Hours & Pay- Pay Rate: $23.50-$36.93 per hour, based on experience, plus a $2.00 shift differential
- Shifts: 2nd and 3rd shifts available; must be available for weekend and overtime as needed
- Employment Type: Direct Hire
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes according to job requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and reference planes
- Configure CNC machines by entering programs, setting zero and reference points, and adjusting offsets
- Work with G & M codes to ensure accurate machining and program edits
- Load work pieces, verify machine settings, and inspect first-run and sample parts
- Monitor tooling, change inserts, and address tool wear to maintain part specifications
- Troubleshoot machining issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Meet production goals for cycle time, quantity, and quality
- Enter work orders into the maintenance system
- Perform basic service checks, including coolant and oil levels
- Collaborate with and guide other CNC team members on advanced tasks
- Support the safe operation of equipment and assist leadership in meeting production schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in CNC setup, operation, and troubleshooting
- Strong working knowledge of G & M codes
- Experience operating CNC mills and lathes
- Proven ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience in machining steel or other metal products
- Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail
- Basic math skills and clear verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work in a foundry manufacturing environment that may be hot in summer and cold in winter
- Availability for overtime and weekends as required
- Willingness to join a union and pay dues within the first 90 days
All new hires complete a two-week shadowing period with experienced CNC Operators to ensure safety, consistency, and quality—regardless of prior experience. While much of the CNC work is in a dedicated machining area, movement through the foundry may be required.
