Senior Contracts Manager

Seeking candidates with demonstrated experience operating within large DoD organizations, specifically those supporting U.S. Navy customers. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in full life cycle contract management, from initial capture and proposal development through execution, compliance, and closeout. This role requires proven ability to interface with senior leadership to help shape the strategic direction of the contracts function, provide informed recommendations, and deliver high quality guidance on complex contractual matters.

Candidates must be comfortable working autonomously, managing priorities independently, and ensuring consistent execution in a fast paced, highly regulated environment.

As a subject‑matter expert, the Senior Contracts Manager interprets contract terms, advises leadership on acquisition strategy, and oversees junior members of the contracts team. This position reports directly to the Director of Contracts/Pricing.

Required Skills and/or

Experience:

• Lead development, negotiation, and administration of NDAs, Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, Change Orders, and other contractual documents.
• Oversee subcontract and change ‑ order entry processes within the contract management system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide senior ‑ level guidance and resolution of complex contractual issues.
• Supervise and mentor Contracts Analysts and Associates.
• Review pricing products, subcontract documentation, compliance packages, and analytical work prepared by junior staff.
• Promote standardized processes and best practices across contract and pricing activities.
• Support corporate compliance reviews, audits, and contract file maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity in contractual documentation and requirements.
• Partner with Operations, Program Management, Finance, and Business Development to support strategic program needs.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in contract management in the DoD environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in interpreting contract requirements and negotiating contract terms.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and strong analytical and computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast ‑ paced environment.
• Strong understanding of business principles, compliance requirements, and collaborative team dynamics.
• Prior experience leading contract negotiations for government (commercial experience a plus).
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS or similar regulatory environments.
• Experience mentoring junior contract staff.

Degree Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field (Desired) or HS diploma with equivalent experience.
