Grading Foreman

We are seeking an experienced Grading Foreman to lead crews on site development and earthwork projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of grading and excavation techniques, and a commitment to safety and quality production.

• Supervise and coordinate grading and earthwork activities on civil construction projects.
• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and grade stakes.
• Ensure grading operations meet design elevations, slopes, and project tolerances.
• Manage a team of equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors.
• Operate GPS‑equipped equipment when necessary (Trimble or Topcon experience preferred).
• Schedule daily tasks, coordinate equipment, and track progress against schedules.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
• Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and engineers to solve field issues.
• Maintain accurate timecards, production reports, and daily logs.
• Promote a culture of safety and enforce company safety policies.

• 3‑5 years of experience in grading/sitework, with 2+ years in a leadership or foreman role.
• Strong understanding of grade control, soil types, and drainage.
• Experience working with GPS machine control and grade checking.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying conditions.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor when needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
• Work in all weather conditions and inspect construction sites as needed.
