BioMedical Engineering Tenure Track

Position Title

Biomedical Engineering – Open Rank – Tenure Track

The Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of South Carolina invites applications for multiple tenure‑track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level.

• Develop and lead an externally funded research program in biomedical engineering or related fields.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biomedical engineering.
• Mentor students at all levels, from undergraduate to Ph.D.
• Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams within the College and University.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.

• Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, bioprocess engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field by the start date.
• Assistant‑level:
  Potential for excellence in teaching and research.
• Associate or Full Professor:
  Demonstrated record of teaching and research accomplishments consistent with the university’s policy for appointments at those ranks.
• Expertise that aligns with the Department’s core strengths and university‑wide initiatives is highly desirable.

• Experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives.
• Record of developing innovative research programs and securing external funding.
• Background in neuroscience, biomaterials, or biosensing.
