Facilities Management Manager – Environmental Services. FLSA Status:
Exempt. 240 Days. Salary Range: $60,820.61 - $84,555.84.
Location:
Richland County School District One, South Carolina. Responsible for managing environmental and safety programs under the direction of the Coordinator of Environmental Services. Interprets, develops, and implements district environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, federal and other regulatory requirements. Coordinates FM safety and training programs per applicable regulatory requirements. Manages various capital projects assigned by the Coordinator of Environmental Services.
- Manage all aspects of Richland One’s Asbestos Management Program to ensure compliance with AHERA.
- Manage Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) program, including receiving work orders and investigating district/public complaints; coordinate staff and contractor efforts and provide timely response actions.
- Manage and schedule inspections, testing, and remediation of mold, lead, and other hazardous materials; meet with contractors and stakeholders on site to communicate and implement remediation plans with documented close-out upon completion.
- Manage the district’s hazardous materials recycling/disposal program (chemicals, paints, science lab materials, light tubes, etc.).
- Manage FM’s hazardous communication program, including training and maintenance of a web-based SDS program.
- Manage capital projects as assigned by the Coordinator.
- Manage the district’s fire extinguisher program, including annual testing and recertification.
- Develop and monitor maintenance and custodial safety programs, including providing/conducting periodic training sessions, inspections, and awareness programs.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance and project managers, engineers, and custodial staff to ensure work complies with district environmental guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee budgets and projects related to environmental and safety issues.
- Maintain Underground Storage Tank (UST) inventory and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Stay abreast of developments in the environmental and safety field; participate in professional organizations (membership recommended).
- Provide building material samples for laboratory analysis to determine environmental hazards prior to demolition.
- Operate equipment used in environmental testing and routine office tasks as needed.
- Coordinate chemical and inventory management activities for the Coordinator.
- Perform general office duties, maintain records and files, copy documents, etc.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Education and Training
:
Requires post-secondary education in environmental related management (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or other relevant field supplemented by five years of environmental/safety management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a valid SC driver’s license without moving violations.
Physical Requirements
:
Must be able to operate various machines and equipment; lift/carry up to five to ten pounds; sedentary work may be required.
