Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Columbia, South Carolina. This position offers an opportunity to work on a variety of tax returns, including those for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, and S-corporations. The role requires proficiency in tax preparation software and bookkeeping tools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual tax returns with precision and attention to detail.

- Manage tax filings for partnerships and S-corporations, ensuring compliance with regulations.

- Utilize both Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Online to maintain accurate financial records.

- Handle complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, addressing unique financial scenarios.

- Conduct thorough reviews of financial compilations to meet licensing requirements.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely submission of tax documents during peak tax season.

- Provide guidance on tax-related matters to clients, offering clear and thorough advice.

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance.

- Support the team in organizing and managing tax documents efficiently.

- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information. Requirements - Proven experience in individual tax preparation, including complex returns.

- Familiarity with tax filings for partnerships and S-corporations.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Online.

- Knowledge of Lacerte Tax Software or similar tax preparation tools.

- Ability to handle high-pressure situations during peak tax periods.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication skills for client interactions.

- Understanding of current tax laws and regulations.
