Lead Phlebotomist

Location: Greenville Outpatient Clinic (GOPC), Greenville, SC, and Columbia VA Healthcare System (CVAHCS), Columbia, SC

Contract Period: Base Year + Four Option Years

Schedule: Various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Hourly: 27.50/hr plus 4.93 for Health and Wellness

• Supervise and coordinate the work of phlebotomists at assigned locations.
• Ensure staff compliance with VA policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance measures.
• Train new staff and provide continuing education for existing personnel.
• Monitor workload distribution, performance metrics, and reporting.
• Handle complex or difficult phlebotomy procedures and troubleshoot specimen collection issues.
• Assist in maintaining adequate staffing levels and scheduling coverage.

• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in training or supervising phlebotomy staff.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Compliance with all phlebotomist qualification requirements.
