Program Manager

Overview

The IT Program Manager will oversee multiple IT projects and initiatives within the Department of Transportation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives. This role requires a strong leader with extensive project management experience and a proven ability to manage complex programs. The IT Program Manager will coordinate resources, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive the successful delivery of projects.

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT programs and projects within the Department of Transportation.
• Develop and manage program roadmaps, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful completion of all initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT staff, project managers, and external vendors, to ensure program objectives are met.
• Monitor and report on program performance, including tracking progress against milestones and deliverables.
• Identify and mitigate program risks and issues, implementing appropriate solutions to ensure project success.
• Facilitate regular program meetings and provide updates to stakeholders on program status and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with project management best practices and standards, including adherence to the PMP methodology.
• Develop and maintain program documentation, including project charters, status reports, and lessons learned.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting effective communication and collaboration among team members.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT project and program management, with a strong track record of successful program delivery.
• PMP certification is required.
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello).
• Experience in government or transportation sectors is a plus.
