Overview
We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) team member to support a research project focused on understanding the health and safety communication needs of immigrant construction workers and workplace stakeholders across the Midlands region of South Carolina.
Based at:
Columbia, South Carolina
Project Dates: August 19, 2025 – May 15, 2026
Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week
Pay: $16–18 per hour (contractor or USC student hire)
Ideal Candidate- Are fluent in Spanish and English (speaking, writing, and reading)
- Have some experience in research or a strong interest and willingness to learn
- Are comfortable with or open to learning research tools such as NVivo
- Possess strong writing and communication skills
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing tasks independently
- Are comfortable engaging with community stakeholders and visiting construction sites when needed
- Contribute to a literature review
- Assist in identifying construction sites and coordinating interviews
- Support data collection activities, including interviews, focus groups, and note-taking
- Translate materials between English and Spanish
- Assist with transcription, coding, and organization of qualitative data
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project dissemination
