Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

You will assess, interpret, and integrate findings to determine appropriate diagnostic, educational, and therapeutic management plans. These duties comply with federal, state, local regulations and the practice’s established priorities and procedures.

- Perform medical services within scope of education, training, and experience including
- Conduct patient visits per accepted practice standards
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Order and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Develop and implement treatment plans per clinical practice guidelines
- Monitor therapeutic effectiveness, assess, and manage patient follow-up care
- Work independently and collaborate with physicians, seeking input as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Document all care in the medical record
- Review and sign off on all lab and diagnostic studies ordered
- Communicate with patients via telephone, addressing questions, medication refills, scheduling, and results
- Teach and promote health practices to patients and families
- Act as a role model and precept clinical staff where appropriate
- Participate in educational activities for patients, families, and professionals
- Comply with the clinic’s Corporate Compliance Plan and applicable regulations
- Apply accurate E&M coding guidelines
- Implement managed care and health plan requirements for formularies, precertification, facilities, and medical necessity
- Manage time and professional relationships
- Maintain and enhance knowledge in pediatric health care and private practice delivery, including continuing education and professional memberships
- Perform related duties as required
Licensure/Certification Requirements
- Hold an active South Carolina license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or PA
- Have BLS/PALS certification
- Knowledge of pediatrics health and related diagnostic and treatment modalities
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze, plan, and coordinate medical care while making appropriate decisions
- Flexibility to respond to changing demands
- Teamwork with physicians and staff
- Active listening skills
