As an Access Control Officer at a government juvenile services location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, screening visitors, and documenting activity. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter incidents, and provide professional customer service.

** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.

+ Control access to the government juvenile justice location by verifying credentials, screening authorized visitors and deliveries, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals according to established procedures.

+ Monitor entry and exit points, report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity, and help to deter prohibited items from entering the location.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and promptly communicating with appropriate personnel.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, common areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

* Minimum Requirements:

* + A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.

+ At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.

+ Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

+ X-ray screening experience is preferred.

+ Customer service experience is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
