As an Access Control Officer in a government setting, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and support a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. Your visible presence, professional communication, and routine security-related duties will help deter incidents while supporting day-to-day operations.

** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and authorized contractors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.

+ Monitor entry points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, issue and collect access credentials, and report unauthorized access attempts according to site procedures.

+ Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations to help identify access-control concerns or unusual activity.

+ Maintain clear, accurate records of visitor activity, access-control events, incidents, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

* Minimum Requirements:

* + A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.

+ Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.

+ Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

+ Have customer service experience, preferred.

+ Have X-ray screening experience, preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
