Vytl One (formerly Maxor National Pharmacy Services) is conducting a search for a dedicated, compassionate Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Prescription Access Liaison at Maury Regional Health Outpatient Pharmacy. An integral part of the care team, the Prescription Access Liaison (PAL), will work independently in the clinic and pharmacy environment to establish strong, credible relationships with patients, clinicians, and internal pharmacy staff to help provide high level, specialized prescriptive care to patients beyond the scope of routine pharmacy practice in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities
  • Answer new referral intake and/or refill calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately input new referrals and update information in designated computer systems.
  • Coordinate with referral sources to obtain all necessary information to initiate services for new patient referrals.
  • Enter new referral prescriptions into computer and have pharmacist verify accuracy of prescription entries.
  • Contact patients to discuss the scope of service for the Specialty Pharmacy and collect information necessary to establish and maintain pharmacy profiles.
  • Communicate to stakeholders the necessary information to obtain benefit information, authorization, reauthorization, and reimbursement by emailing and scanning pertinent medical information.
  • Discuss financial obligations with new patients and address insurance issues that require alternate funding. Register and/or open patients with manufacturer reimbursement programs as needed.
  • Follow up on authorizations to ensure they are achieved prior to dispensing.
  • Schedule dispensing calendar for new or refill customers and set up shipping arrangements as needed.
  • Assist in co-pay collections, which require communication with the patient.
  • Review dispensing calendar and assist with the completion of all order entries and shipments each day.
  • Assist the dispensing technicians as needed regarding required refill requests that are discovered at time of dispensing.
  • Assist in ordering medications and supplies and audit receipt of goods; review invoices to ensure correctness and route to appropriate contact.
  • Gather medications and supplies, labels, and have shipments verified for correctness by the pharmacist; follow up on shipping exceptions to ensure patients are informed of delays.
  • Complete tasks in compliance with ACHC/URAC accreditation standards and policies for the Specialty Pharmacy; maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  • Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs, staff meetings, in-services, and other required programs.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Process; maintain excellent customer service standards.
  • Report allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department; comply with Vytl One’s ethical conduct policies and compliance program.
  • Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists; complete required training within established time frames.
  • Maintain regular attendance and cope with the mental and emotional aspects of the position; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • TN Pharmacy Technician license
  • A minimum of two (2) years of Pharmacy Tech experience in a high-volume, fast-paced pharmacy; prior experience preferred
  • National Pharmacy Technician certification from PTCB or NHA required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be able to comply with occupational health requirements.
  • Ability to follow established safety, infection control, environmental and isolation practices, and procedures always.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff (patients, clinic staff, pharmacy staff, and providers).
  • Working knowledge of computer software including EMR documentation, data entry, and email.
  • Experience/understanding with medication prior authorization processes; specialty pharmacy experience is a plus.
  • Customer service experience; flexible to address any pharmacy need, including unexpected or sudden issues.
