Job Overview
This position is a full‑time, permanent onsite clinical position within Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance in Columbia, TN.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members in a professional and courteous manner.
- Politely escort patients from waiting room to exam room.
- Obtain patient medical history in electronic health records (EHR), vital signs, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with examinations.
- Remove casts, splints, sutures, and dressings as directed by physician.
- Prepare and assist provider with procedures if needed such as aspiration injections.
- Update patient’s chart under the direction of the provider during patient visits, recording detailed information into the electronic health records (EHR) system, including medical histories, physical examinations, and treatment plans while using medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Enter E&M/CPT codes and submit charges to the coding department.
- Document and provide patients with clear instructions regarding their care plan.
- Provide patient education and review home exercise programs.
- Review patient charts for completeness.
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms between patient visits.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience using Next Gen or electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
