The Legal Office Manager oversees the daily operations of a law office, ensuring efficient workflow, organized processes, and high‑quality administrative support for attorneys and staff. This role manages office administration, billing support, scheduling, vendor relations, and basic HR functions. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and eager to take on increasing responsibility as the firm expands. This position offers significant opportunities for growth into higher‑level operations management, practice management, or firm leadership roles.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily office operations, ensuring a well‑organized and efficient work environment.
- Manage calendars, scheduling, correspondence, and court deadlines for attorneys and staff.
- Supervise administrative and support staff, including training and performance guidance.
- Coordinate client communications, file maintenance, and case management workflows.
- Assist with billing, invoicing, collections, and basic financial tracking.
- Maintain office supplies, vendor contracts, equipment, and technology needs.
- Support HR‑related tasks such as onboarding, timekeeping, and policy implementation.
- Ensure compliance with firm procedures, confidentiality standards, and legal practice requirements.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices to streamline operations.
- Provide leadership support to attorneys, with the ability to assume expanded responsibilities as the firm grows.
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal administrative environment required.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with legal software, case management systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic, growing firm.
