. Spicer Group is seeking highly motivated Construction Inspectors to join our team for GDOT Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI). The Construction Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all work on assigned projects is performed in compliance with GDOT standards and specifications, as well as all federal, state, and local regulations.

This position is ideal for individuals with field inspection experience in roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects who are looking to contribute to impactful transportation improvements. Both entry-level and mid-level candidates are encouraged to apply, with roles available for a variety of experience levels.

• Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with GDOT plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Monitor contractor performance and construction progress, reporting any issues to the project manager.
• Ensure erosion and sediment control measures are properly installed and maintained in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Verify quantities of materials used and work performed for accurate project documentation and payment processing.
• Maintain detailed field records, including daily work reports/diaries, photos, and inspection logs.
• Assist with punch list creation and final project closeout.
• Act as client, contractor, and project manager liaison for the construction of municipal and GDOT infrastructure projects.
• Communicate directly with clients and owners, attend meetings, review shop drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, and generate preliminary estimates of cost.
• Conduct material sampling and testing as needed for compliance.
• Familiarity with GDOT specifications, GDOT Standards and Details, project plans, and work practices is preferred.

• High school diploma or GED
• Construction inspection experience, preferably in the areas of GDOT Road and Bridge Construction or as a consultant for a State Highway Agency
• Valid driver’s license

• Passing scores on GDOT’s Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests – Group 1 (General Provisions, Auxiliary Items, Basic Highway Math, Basic Highway Plan Reading)
• GDOT WECS (Worksite Erosion Control Supervisor)
• GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification or ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1
• GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control)
