Department of Theatre and Dance
Responsibilities- Organize and guide the construction of costumes for the department, including oversight of shop safety.
- Teach, serve as occasional costume designer, and/or advise student costume designers.
- Develop costume budgets, purchase materials and shop supplies, and reconcile purchase card.
- Maintain, organize, and oversee use of resources (costume inventory, equipment, and facilities).
- Supervise costume and makeup production practice, including maintaining syllabi, records, and grading.
- Serve on departmental committees and/or provide other service to the department.
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years relevant experience in a professional theatre, film, television, or other entertainment industry costume shop as a stitcher, draper, or supervisor.
Preferred QualificationsMFA (Preferred) in theatre, fashion, textiles, or a closely related field and relevant experience in a professional theatre, film, television, or other entertainment industry costume shop as a stitcher, draper, or supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Skill as a stitcher and cutter.
- Knowledge of pattern drafting and tailoring.
