Dental Office Assistant

Heartland Dental invites a dedicated Dental Office Assistant to support front‑office operations at Midtown Dental Care. The role blends patient service, administrative coordination, and system proficiency to deliver quality care.

• Greet and welcome patients, creating a welcoming first impression.
• Answer phones, manage office mail and email, and communicate with patients and insurance companies.
• Utilize Dentrix to schedule appointments, update patient records, and verify insurance benefits.
• File insurance claims, follow up on outstanding claims, and process patient payments.
• Review treatment plan fees and discuss payment options with patients.
• Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office potential.

• Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and the ability to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.
• 1+ year experience in a dental or medical setting (preferred).
• 1+ year experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable (preferred).
• Experience with Dentrix or other dental software (preferred).

• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• May lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in‑person) periodically throughout the year.
• TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions (standard requirement).
