Location:
Columbus, GA
- Provide Direct Nutrition to individuals and community groups
- Develop relationships with community sites and actively recruit eligible participants for direct nutrition education
- Implement the Voices for Food Program
- Prepare and submit reports to State SNAP‑Ed program staff
- Conduct community surveys to ascertain health needs, develop desirable health goals, and determine availability of professional health services
- Develop and maintain cooperation between public, civic, professional, and voluntary agencies
- Prepare and disseminate educational and informational materials
- Prepare, submit, and maintain program budget
- Promote health discussions in community agencies and provide information to the public regarding health concerns and resources
- This is not a remote position
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience in nutrition education; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external partners, coalitions, and stakeholders; knowledge of Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
Additional InformationAll West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. If called on to participate in an event you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment. Georgia Department of Public Health encourages employees to engage in regular physical activities and make lifestyle choices that promote health. A maximum of 30 minutes may be used in a workday for physical activity.
