Overview
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist 1, 2, or 3 (Columbus) – Join to apply for the Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist 1, 2, or 3 (Columbus) role at Georgia Department of Public Health
Responsibilities- Provide nutrition services to clients in the WIC Program as assigned
- Complete nutrition screening, assessment, and education for eligible WIC clients
- Will be required to travel to the surrounding 16 counties as assigned
- At least one year of WIC experience is preferred
- This position is housed in Columbus
- Nutritionist/Dietitian 1 - Hire-in salary $41,064.48. Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Nutritionist/Dietitian 2 - Hire-in salary $45,170.93. Same as above plus Two years of experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals.
- Nutritionist/Dietitian 3 - Hire-in salary $51,946.80. Same as above plus One year of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist AND registration as a Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration AND licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia.
NOTE:
According to Georgia Public Health WIC Program Guidelines, candidates without a verification statement who can comply with the following requirements may be eligible for consideration in this position:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a nutrition field from an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) but did not earn a verification statement. A letter from the DPD program director stating the individual successfully completed the program but did not earn a verification statement can serve as coursework verification OR
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition from an accredited college or university that meets specific coursework criteria. Criteria can be reviewed and verified using Non-DPD required coursework reference.
- All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
