Lead Staff Pharmacist, FT, Piedmont Columbus Midtown

Overview

The Lead Staff Pharmacist assumes essential duties and responsibilities in the absence of pharmacy managers, ensuring standard of patient care. Assists the Director with business aspects of the department, manages pharmacy workflow under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, and prepares monthly staffing schedule for pharmacists. Performs distribution, documentation, and compounding of drugs, solutions, and equipment, reviews, compounds, dispenses, and monitors medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, provides oversight for students and pharmacy technician activities, and performs patient-focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Assumes essential duties and responsibilities in the absence of pharmacy managers, ensuring standard of patient care.
  • Serves as part of the pharmacy leadership team and assists the Director with business aspects of the department.
  • Manages pharmacy workflow under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Prepares monthly staffing schedule for pharmacists.
  • Performs duties of distribution, documentation, and compounding related to drugs, solutions, and equipment.
  • Reviews, compounds, dispenses, and monitors medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Provides oversight for students and pharmacy technician activities, monitoring all orders filled by auxiliary personnel.
  • Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice.
  • Performs patient-focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Bachelor’s Degree Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy.
  • Work Experience
    : 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    :
    Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia.
