You will be responsible for performing inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, level II ultrasounds for the diagnosis of complex fetal anomalies including, but not limited to cardiac defects, intracranial defects, and other systemic defects. Assist and perform ultrasounds during guided procedures, such as genetic amniocentesis, amnioreductions, and chorionic villus sampling. Able to independently perform job functions. Sets up the equipment to provide imaging service and correctly position patient for the procedure.

Must be able to provide proper high‑level disinfection of probes. Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable and cooperative. Has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study.

• Education a. Maintenance of lifelong certification. b. Provide guidance for general OB/GYN sonographers. c. Obtain and maintain the following certifications: fetal echo, nuchal translucency, CLEAR within 3 years.
• Effective Communication a. Verbal communication with physician, genetic counselor and team regarding ultrasound findings. b. Maintenance of Excel spreadsheet, tracking diagnoses.
• Efficiency a. Subject matter expert regarding specific ultrasound machines. b. Organization of ultrasound reports.
• AIUM Certification a. Active involvement and ability to assist practice in AIUM Certification by providing properly labeled and clear scans and following protocols.

• Demonstrates the ability to adjust technique so that patient receives the lowest possible dose of ionizing radiation, and that image quality is maintained.
• Reports problems regarding malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or service provider, so that problem can be corrected in a timely manner.
• Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment in accordance with infection control policy and department cleaning schedule.
