Overview
Student Assistant - UITS Help Desk River Park at Columbus State University. The CSU Help Desk provides courteous, prompt, and accurate technical assistance to CSU students, faculty, and staff in person, by telephone, online (eQuest), and by email. The role involves initial assessment, triage, research, and resolution of basic incidents and requests regarding technology, hardware, application software, and infrastructure components. The ideal candidate is friendly, helpful, and willing to learn with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students; assist users in the lab with lab equipment, including computers, scanners, print release stations, and printers; assist students in the usage of general lab software; enforce all UITS computer lab rules.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with mobile devices and computers; provide users with ongoing technical support by developing documentation; perform inventories and requisitioning equipment or supplies; maintain complete records of daily activities, problems, and remedial action taken in a ticketing database.
- Other duties as assigned related to user support and lab operations.
- Required:
excellent customer service skills; strong oral and written communication; high level of problem-solving ability; ability to work closely with students and team members; knowledge of current technologies for supporting computer hardware and network issues; ability to resolve common computer, software, and network issues; GPA greater than 2.5. - Preferred: personal computer repair and networking skills.
- Salary:
The position will work up to 25 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. - Eligibility:
To be considered, applicants must be current Columbus State University students enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per semester.
