Job Description

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing for mainframe applications.
  • Execute and validate batch jobs, JCL, COBOL programs, and IMS DB.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to create test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Ability to perform Test Execution and Test data preparation Independently. Identify, log, and track defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Use tools like HP ALM, JIRA, or equivalent test management systems for test execution and defect tracking.
  • Validate file processing, data integrity, and database updates. Automate mainframe testing using tools like REXX, CA7, or other scripting techniques.
  • Customer Facing role with compliance with business rules and security guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Lead the onshore offshore connection, good understanding of ISPF, SDSF panels, Proc JCL Lib. Investigate the complex Cobol and IMS code, compilation and troubleshooting and Unit test experience.
  • Responsible for analyzing, creating test cases, testing, test plan and maintaining COBOL programs to meet the business needs of organizations.
  • Test the well-structured and efficient COBOL code based on business and system requirements.
  • Perform system testing, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure that COBOL applications are functioning properly.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including program specifications, flowcharts, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure that testing standards are met as per industry standards, security protocols, and best practices.
