Operations Manager
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
Supervise the safe and efficient manufacturing or distribution of products in accordance with company standards.
Plan, prioritize, and schedule daily activities and workforce assignments to meet production goals.
Train and coach team members to maintain effective operations and high-quality output.
Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate required maintenance.
Manage performance, development, and morale of assigned Associates.
Lead initiatives to support lean manufacturing, and process improvements.
Collaborate with departmental managers to meet overall plant objectives in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Monitor labor usage, overtime, material costs, and other KPIs to minimize expenses.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, and company code of ethics.
Maintain detailed records and reports for analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating personnel.
Perform hands‑on labor as necessary to alleviate production bottlenecks.
Maintain housekeeping and enforce 6S workplace standards.
Engage positively with customers and vendors as a company representative.
Use IT systems to streamline operations and improve data accuracy and access.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises a team of Associates.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, performance management, training, and resolution of associate issues in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications:Education, Experience, and Skills
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment with progressive leadership responsibilities.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
Proficiency in using IT systems related to manufacturing operations.
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and modern production processes.
Requires basic reading, writing, and numerical ability.
Effectively motivates and manages a team.
