Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, employees, and visitors.

• Reviews menus and work orders to determine quantities of food to be prepared
• Maintain cleanliness of station throughout service
• Maintain proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards while preparing food, serving food and clean-up
• Maintain food temperature logs, and refrigerator/freezer logs
• Orders food products from storeroom
• Pre-prepares special items that require attention
• Prepares and measures proper ingredients
• Must properly label, date, store, and rotate food items and products under refrigeration and in the freezer
• Ensure proper temperature for all food items being served
• Coordinates proper and prompt utilization of leftovers
• Cleans work areas as assigned
• Displays a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
• Performs related duties as requested
• Attends and satisfactorily completes the mandatory education classes
• Cooks on grill if needed

Experience:1-4 years hospital, institutional or restaurant cooking preferred.

Education:High School graduate or equivalent required

Special

Certifications:

Serv Safe Certification required or must obtain within 6 month of hire.
