Position Summary

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician you will work to provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department and deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the club meets the member’s expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill sales and service requests; educate other associates on tools, tasks, resources and mentor new technicians; communicate and develop interpersonal skills to provide safe and efficient customer service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, seasonality, Point of Sale systems, phone and in-person selling techniques.
  • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the service experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology and systems for immediate business decisions regarding services, safety alerts, new product information, product application and training; adapt to new tools and encourage others.
  • Communicate equipment, tools and supplies needs to TBC Lead; track and monitor returns and special orders; operate cash registers and process transactions; work hands‑on in the physical area; maintain accurate inventory, audit, safety and compliance standards; report complaints, safety hazards and problems with products, services and work areas; complete paperwork, logs and other required documentation; ensure merchandise is packaged, labeled and stored per company policies;

    identify member needs, assist with purchasing decisions and resolve issues.
  • Act as a brand advocate by valuing the member’s experience in the TBC area and modeling high‑quality service and products; develop, influence and inspire others to work in a respectful, supportive and team‑oriented style; understand roadblocks and assist in training teammates.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; apply these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers and other partners; identify priorities, deadlines and expectations; carry out tasks; communicate progress and information; determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities; adapt to and learn from change, difficulties and feedback.

Education and Training

Live Better U is a company‑paid education benefit program for full‑time and part‑time associates in Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, including English Language Learning and short‑form certificates. Tuition, books and fees are paid by Walmart.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid State‑issued Driver’s License.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Successful completion of all job‑required trainings and assessments within prescribed time periods after receiving the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Auto service industry experience.
  • Retail experience.
