Job Description
This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage sales performance, and effectively handle assigned territory and targeted accounts. Build strong customer relationships and a customer‑needs‑solving capability to maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance. Operate within Abb Vie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (or equivalent industry experience).
- At least five years of industry experience with three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry if the bachelor’s degree is not held; a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Advanced scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to adapt to customer styles/behaviors and leverage findings to develop winning sales strategies.
- Proactive, innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges.
- Effective operation in a matrix environment; influence others and build collaborative partnerships.
- Leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills, including peer coaching.
- Preferred:
Proven sales performance record in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account‑based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing. - English language proficiency verbally and in writing.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health‑care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre‑employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
Key Stakeholders
- External:
Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other stakeholders within the brand plan. - Internal:
In‑field team members, Sales Management (DSM), Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.

Note:
Pay is considered earned, vested, and determinable only when earned. The Company reserves absolute discretion over bonus, commission, incentive, and benefit determinations.
