Under the supervision of the ASP Supervisor, the Guard II is responsible for patrolling the compound, monitoring surveillance systems, controlling access, identifying suspicious behavior, and enforcing security policies.
Responsibilities- Provide security for the department.
- Control access to the facilities.
- Monitor alarm systems and patrol facilities.
- Interpret and apply ammunition-related details.
- Verify identification of visitors and employees, monitor entry points, and deny access to unauthorized individuals.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Desktop computers, multi‑line telephone, two‑way radio, multi‑functional devices, material handling equipment (MHE), banding equipment, and related items.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective mask, safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat, and eyewear in certain areas.
- Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Walking and standing for extended periods.
- Maintaining focus during long periods of monitoring and patrolling.
- Requires close visual acuity for activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects or parts, using measurement devices, and assembling or fabricating components at close distance.
- Work will typically be in a temperature‑controlled office environment with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
- There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
- Workers may be subject to hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding, high places, exposure to high heat, or chemicals.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a criminal background check and a pre‑employment drug screen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier One level clearance (NAC‑I).
- Valid driver’s license without restrictions.
- Preferred: four (4) years of knowledge of Army physical security regulations.
- High ethical standards and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize, multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment, and interact at all levels.
- Ability to work independently or in a highly collaborative team-based environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels.
- Excellent observation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify potential security risks.
